KOREAN SMARTPHONE VENDOR Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy S Advance Smartphone ahead of mobile world congress(MWC) The Galaxy S Advance is being aimed towards those users on a budget and is powered by a dual-core 1.0 GHz processor, a 4.0” WVGA (480x800) Super AMOLED display, HSPA 14.4 Mbps connectivity and a 5MP camera.
Despite the Galaxy S moniker, the phone is certainly a step down to what many fans of Samsung's series of devices will be used to. The 5MP camera is low even for a budget phones these days and it will also only launch with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system instead of Ice Cream Sandwich, Google's latest version of Android.

Despite the lack of a new OS and low quality camera, the Galaxy S Advance is pretty slim, measuring at just 9.69mm thick and weighing 120g. It will also ship in both 8GB and 16GB sizes, though it does have a microSD slot if you would like to increase capacity in the future.
It will be interesting to if a release like this makes a mockery of the Samsung's Galaxy brand, one that has in the past been known for cutting edge hardware and technology, rather than budget run-of-the-mill devices.
